WINTER HIKER insulated hammock (-5C).

Winter edition of our full size hammock with integrated bug net (mosquito, midge and fly proof). This model have a fully integrated bottom insulation (pat. pend.) and does not require any additional underquilts or mats. This is our flagship model with all components integrated in to one, easy to set up package. Netting can be stored at the foot end using shock cord loop installed in the foot end hood. There is also another tying point at the head end for hanging accessories like your jacket, pillow, or empty compression sack for storage.

PLEASE NOTE: This hammock can be ordered with solid fabric overcover instead of netting which can trap some of your body heat and help a little with your top insulation. During testing however condensation became a big problem inside the hammock. That factor along with small weight penalty and "claustrophobia" feeling caused us to go back to netting and it is our opinion and experience that the extra 2C inside are not worth the tradeoffs.

Included with every hammock:

- heavy duty compression sack.
You will need some form of top insulation in the shape of a blanket or sleeping bag, which can be unzipped and used like a duvet for maximum comfort and freedom of movement. Temperature rating of this hammock can be further extended by sleeping in your clothes, zipping up your sleeping bag completely, adding conventional under quilt, fixing a poncho under the quilt as a wind protector etc.
Like all other hammocks a suitable tarp (min 3m long) is required to protect from the elements, especially wind as the bottom layer is breathable/wind resistant and not windproof.
